• Dash Across The Land virtual race to benefit student athletes across Northeast Ohio
• Race distances include: 1-mile, 5K, and 10K
• A portion of every registration will be donated directly to UH Sports Medicine

CLEVELAND, OH – Aug. 4, 2020 – The Cleveland Marathon and UH Sports Medicine are proudly partnering to present this first-ever virtual race to support more than 50 Northeast Ohio high schools and colleges. Proceeds from the event, which will be held Aug. 14-17, will help UH Sports Medicine provide these schools with the appropriate supplies to keep student athletes healthy and safe during the 2020 – 2021 school year.

Race options include a 1-mile, 5K and 10K, and the cost to register is $40. A portion of every registration fee will be donated directly to UH Sports Medicine. Participants may choose to raise additional funds individually or create a team. All money raised will go directly to UH Sports Medicine and will be divided among the schools.

“We are thrilled to partner with UH Sports Medicine to offer this safe, virtual race to benefit Northeast Ohio student athletes,” said Jack Staph, executive director, Cleveland Marathon. “UH has been a wonderful sponsor of the marathon over the years, and this collaboration feels like a natural fit for both organizations.”

Dr. Michael Salata of UH Sports Medicine added, “This event is at the core of what we do – supporting athletes to do what they love in a safe environment. The bonus is that we get to help local student athletes and extend our partnership with the Cleveland Marathon at the same time.”

All participants will receive the following swag:

• Custom soft cotton blend short-sleeve shirt
• Custom Dash Across The Land-branded sunglasses
• Printable race bib
• Printable finisher's certificate
• Emails including UH training and nutrition tips

Participants have two options regarding swag pick-up:

1)      Have your shirt and sunglasses mailed to you after the race. (Selecting this option will add an additional $5 fee to your registration at check-out.)

2)      Pick up your shirt and sunglasses at Fleet Feet Northfield (114 East Aurora Road, Northfield, OH 44067) between Aug. 10-24.
